Jeanette Jenkins explains why exercising is a healthy choice not only for the body, but for the mind as well: “Good mental health is just as important as good physical health, and exercise is crucial to getting both”. With exercise comes more energy, good health, and a strong motivation to keep going on. This 21 days plan is designed to help you further beyond this three weeks period, into making healthy living a lifetime habit.

The program is made up of four main workouts: three strength circuits and a cardio one. Each circuit is built around different muscles areas, while the cardio is designed to burn up energy and build your fitness. It is recommended to do the exercises in the order prescribed.

You will need sets of light and medium dumbbells (3-5, respectively 8-10 pounds).

The cardio workout:

These treadmill exercises should burn up 300-500 calories in around 40-50 minutes. They are designed for all difficulties, from beginner to advanced.If you don’t have a treadmill, outside on flat or hilly terrain would be fine too. After your cardio workout, 5-10 minutes of stretching for shoulders, chest, hips, and legs would be highly recommended.

The three circuits breakthrough:

Circuit A:

1. Push-Up/Plank Combo
2. Chest Flye
3. Reverse Lunge
4. Squat/Chair Pose

Circuit B:

1. Plie Squat
2. Biceps Curl
3. Inner/Outer Leg Lift
4. Back Flye

Circuit C:

1. Roll-Up
2. Side Reach
3. Boat Pose

The structure of the 21 day plan:

Day 1: Cardio, stretch
Day 2: Circuits A & C
Day 3: Cardio, stretch
Day 4: Circuits B & C
Day 5: Circuit A, stretch
Day 6: Circuits B & C
Day 7: Rest and rebuild yourself

Repeat for the next two weeks.
